NCCP welcomes Presbyterian Church of Pakistan’s reconciliation efforts

The General Secretary of National Council of Churches in Pakistan has welcomed the recent reconciliatory efforts by the Presbyterian Church of Pakistan's leadership. The Presbyterian Church of Pakistan (PCP) has faced significant challengings due to longstanding divisions among the leadership.

The statement issued by NCCP states,

"It is with great joy and gratitude that we welcome the news of reconciliation within the Presbyterian Church of Pakistan. These efforts of unification, achieved after years of division, are the answer of our prayers. As the Church move forward together in unity, we strengthen our collective mission to spread Christ’s love, serve our communities, and promote justice. Let this renewed harmony inspire us all to work towards greater unity within the body of Christ."

The Presbyterian Church of Pakistan (PCP) is the largest Presbyterian, Reformed denominations and the second largest Protestant church in Pakistan. The division within the (PCP) has significantly hindered its work and mission in Pakistan.

The fragmentation has also impacted related institutions like the National Council of Churches in Pakistan (NCCP). The NCCP relies on the cohesion and collaborative efforts of its member churches to address national issues and promote ecumenical initiatives. Reconciliation within the PCP is therefore vital not only for its own mission but also for the broader Christian community's strength and influence in Pakistan.
