Sunday School Training Marks New Beginning in Jaranwala

The National Council of Church in Pakistan organised a Sunday School Teaching Training Program at Holy Vision School and Academy  with the support of  Rev. Inayat Memorial Presbyterian Church  in Jaranwala on September 6, 2024. The program brought together dedicated Sunday school teachers and youth groups from Jaranwala to equip them with new teaching strategies aimed at nurturing faith and knowledge among young children in the Christian community.

For NCCP this program holds special importance  as it took place in Jaranwala, a town that experienced devastating violence on christian community last year when 25 churches were set ablaze by  extremist mobs on the pretext of blasphemy. Despite the tragic loss, fear and the pain left on the community, this training proved to be a step toward healing, recovery, and faith and unity in the area.

The primary objective of the training session was to provide young participants with the tools and techniques required for effective Sunday school instruction and to develop their leadership skills to face challenges being minority christian.

Speaking at the event, Rev. Rizwan Mall, local church priest, highlighted the resilience of the Christian community in Jaranwala:
"This training session is not just about teaching, but about showing the world that our faith and love for one another are stronger. We stand united in our mission to rebuild, teach, and continue the work of Christ in this town."
