Dr. Mathews George Chunakara, The General Secretary of the Christian Conference of Asia (CCA), has written a letter to the President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, urging immediate action against those responsible for orchestrating violence against Christians in the country. Dr. Chunakara emphasizes the need for measures to ensure safety and security for the Christian minority in Pakistan.
Violence against christian community in Pakistan is on the rise in the recent time. Unfortunately, law enforcment organizations are miserably failed to prevent and protect the christian minority community. Last year in August 2023 dozens of churches and about hundred christian houses and property were set on fire in Jaranwala by extremist mob. On 25th May 2024 in Sargodha mob brutally tortured a christian man and set on fire his property on the pretext of alleged desecration of holy quran.
