Pakistan is grappling with its most catastrophic flooding in decades, as overflowing rivers and relentless monsoon rains have submerged vast regions across Punjab and other provinces. Over 3.5 million people have been affected, with hundreds of thousands displaced from their homes and forced into makeshift shelters. Millions of acres of fertile land lie underwater, threatening food security and deepening the humanitarian crisis.
The National Council of Churches in Pakistan (NCCP) has mobilized flood relief operations in the severely affected areas of Shakargarh, Badomali, Narowal, and Zafarwal. In response to the urgent humanitarian crisis, NCCP teams—working in collaboration with local churches—are distributing essential food rations, including staple items such as flour, rice, lentils, and cooking oil, to families displaced by the devastating floods. These efforts are part of a broader network of relief initiatives, with civil and military institutions also actively engaged in rescue operations and support missions across the region.
The National Council of Churches in Pakistan (NCCP) humbly appeals to the global Christian community, ecumenical forums, and people of goodwill to join us in fervent prayer and extend generous support during this time of great need.
